At Demo Site, there are many opportunities to share your gifts and talents during our liturgies. A short description of each Worship Ministry can be found here. During a weekend in November, our parish Pastoral Council holds a Ministry Fair after all the weekend liturgies. This is a great opportunity to sign up, or you may use the contact information found below each ministry.

Altar Servers

All children in grades 4-12 are invited to serve at the Lord’s Table by assisting the priest at the weekend Masses. This is an excellent opportunity to serve God by being an active participant in our worship community. Training is provided.

Garden Angels

These green thumbs are always looking for parish garden help in weeding, planting and the ongoing upkeep of flowers. The Garden Angels beautify the parish grounds and share “angel food” at the end of each gardening session. More angels are always welcome!

Art & Environment

The Art and Environment Committee is a group of parishioners who volunteer their time to adorn and prepare the sacred space of Holy Spirit for the changing of the church’s calendar. Throughout the Liturgical year, they come together to enhance our surroundings for the seasons such as Advent, Christmas, Lent, Easter, or any other special feast of the church. This does not require any special talents other than a willingness to serve.

Music Ministry

God has abundantly gifted many members of our congregation with musical ability and we regularly invite new members to share their gifts by joining our music ministry. This extensive ministry includes choral and handbell ensembles for all ages from young children to adults. There is something for everyone.

Children’s Liturgy of the Word

This program, offered during the 10:00 Mass from October through April, provides children in grades K-5 an opportunity to hear the readings proclaimed in a language they can easily understand. After the opening rites, the children and catechists gather together in the center aisle, receive a blessing from the priest, and then proceed to another room to hear and share the Sunday readings. Each team of adult volunteers facilitates 5-6 times a year.

Readers of God’s Word

Readers of God’s Word proclaim the Scriptures and read the Prayers of Intercession and other announcements at weekend liturgies. Readers are scheduled for various Masses on a rotating basis. Those who have been gifted with good voices and presence are invited to share their gift with the parish.

Ushers

Teams of ushers offer hospitality, assistance, and taking the collection of the offering at weekend liturgies. In addition, the Ushers Club serves as a men’s club, with meetings on the second Wednesday of each month. All men of the parish are welcome to join the Ushers Club. Women are welcome to join in the ministry of ushering at Mass.

Eucharistic Ministers

Eucharistic Ministers assist in the distribution of Holy Communion at weekend liturgies. Given the size of our parish, new ministers are always in demand. Ministers volunteer for one of the weekend Mass times. Training sessions are held as needed.
